Four ways of monitoring optical fiber networking

Method 1: General application

The main limitation is the distance between network cables, which can be overcome by using optical transceivers. This is a common networking configuration we may encounter in daily life.

Method 2: One-to-one transmission method

This is a common application of fiber optic transceivers, which are used in small and medium-sized long-distance networks. The most obvious is that there is only one pair of fiber optic transceivers.

Method 3: Application of optical fiber networking in large-scale monitoring projects

Converged optical transceivers are widely used in some small-scale network monitoring projects, and they are also known as converged optical switches. They are a multi-to-one link mode.

The 4 optical 1/2 electrical or 8 optical 1/2 electrical fiber optic switch at the server room end directly replaces multiple 1 optical 1 electrical fiber optic transceivers, and connects directly to the NVR through the gigabit port of the fiber optic switch, reducing the application of one network switch at the server room end.

Mode 4: PON network monitoring topology diagram

The digital video stream of the camera output image signal at each monitoring point is connected to the PON through the ONU device, and then connected to multiple points through the optical splitter to achieve point-to-point access.

PON consists of an OLT (optical line terminal), an ONU (optical network unit) on the user side, and an ODN (optical distribution network).

As the mainstream access network networking technology in the industry, PON bearer technology has a simple network structure and high system stability.It has strong network adaptability and can flexibly respond to major changes in system functions and performance requirements.It has a variety of access service types and can better solve the problems of wide coverage of video surveillance system access, uncertainty of access points, and digitalization of access front-end equipment.

PON has better applications in large-scale monitoring projects such as long-distance or remote monitoring.
